Regain Balance In Mind and Body
When we think of yoga, we usually think of a workout designed to tone muscles, increase strength, and promote weight loss. We imagine a crowded classroom with a routine workout structured for a group.
That is certainly one beneficial approach to yoga. But it is not the only approach.
There is a way to use yoga as a therapy for treating both physical and mental stresses, pains, and problems. We call this Therapeutic Yoga and it is different than basic yoga because it has the ability to treat:
- Stress
- Fatigue
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Feelings of being overwhelmed
- Insomnia
- Anger issues
- Tension

Loving Life Therapeutic Yoga Styles
Invigorating Yoga | Targets: Stress, fatigue, self-awareness, depression, and lack of motivation. — Yoga session with a series of Asanas ( postures) and Pranayama (breath work) techniques that promote vitality and stamina in the body. This session will empower you by providing practical tools to use when feeling tired, fatigued, stuck, or just have been sitting in a chair all day. This session will help you bring more awareness in the body by noticing the subtle energetic changes that occur while doing each exercise and alleviate depression symptoms.
Root Yoga | Targets: Stress, anxiety, panic, and feelings of being overwhelmed and consumed. (Great for over-analytical minds.) — Yoga session with a series of Asanas ( postures) and Pranayama (breath work) techniques that promote grounding, connection, and stability in the body by balancing the nervous system. This session explores the qualities of being rooted (connection, strength, alignment, flexibility, balance, etc.) to promote a sense of safety, courage, and empowerment that will guide us to our highest expression and possibilities. This session will help reduce high anxiety levels, stress, and help ground those who feel they are in their heads all day.
Yin Yoga | Targets: Anxiety, panic, emotional coping, and self-awareness. Releases emotional build up of anger, stress, and resentment while increasing energy levels. — Yoga session that allows the body to release tension in a much deeper way as it facilitates a space for emotional expression. From a Physical Level, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, fascia) and completely releases the muscle by holding poses for a longer time. Generally the poses are all on the floor and the use of props is encouraged. From an Energetic Level, Yin Yoga opens channels where the prana (breath) sometimes stagnates, similar to having a self acupuncture session. From a Mental Level, Yin Yoga is a highly meditative practice as you need to hold poses for a long period of time. This practice is highly encouraged if you are in need of a deep stretch and want to become more flexible as you re-learn to be present with yourself. (Pairs well with the Deep Tissue Massage and the Myfascial Massage for the holistic recovery approach.)
Yoga Nidra | Targets: Insomnia, stress, tension, anxiety, and inability to turn off the mind. It is a great way to release emotional build up of anger, stress, and resentment while increasing energy levels. — In this “The Yoga of Sleep” session , you will experience a deep state of relaxation by entering a state of lucid sleep. While being fully conscious, we will explore scanning the body for areas of tension and slowly release deeper and deeper. This session is highly encouraged for people who get few hours of sleep and/or experience high levels of stress, anxiety, and panic attacks. It is a very low-impact method of yoga with minimal body poses.
